THE DAILY LIFE NECESSITIES

As with the preceding credit card exercise, you need to create a worksheet that lists all outstanding fxed loans, including the name of the lender, the amount due, and the monthly payment. Contact the bank or loan company to whom you owe the debt and ask to talk to a loan officer or credit manager.
Explain your present diffculties and outline what you hope to accomplish, noting whether the situation is short-term or long-term. If it's likely that you'll be out of trouble in a short time, you can ask to have the monthly payments reduced for a few months.
Alternatively, you can ask if the lender will extend your loan for a longer period but with lower payments before looking for another job.

This approach increases the amount of interest you pay, but if it makes it possible for you to continue to make payments and live within your budget, it's worth it. You'll protect your credit history while still living within your means. In all other respects, this process is similar to that of negotiating with credit card companies. The job of loan offcers and credit managers is to get loans paid, and as long as you're reasonable and show a real desire to pay off the debts, they'll generally want to work with you to reach a mutually satisfying agreement.

Nobody likes them, but we've all got to pay them. To decide not to would be a really bad move, to say the least.
1-Shelter. You have to live somewhere, and unless you find somebody who will let you live with them for free (hello Mom and Dad!), you'll have to pay for it. If you own instead of rent, you'll have to pay property taxes and the costs of keeping the home in good repair, in addition to your mortgage.
2-Utilities. Gas, electricity, oil, water, trash pickup, and phone all are costs associated with renting or owning a home or apartment. You can control themby monitoring and cutting back, but you can't escape them.

3- Food. You can stop eating, but only for a little while. Even Mom and Dad will get tired of you showing up for dinner every night. There are lots of ways to saveon food costs, such as cooking for yourself instead of buying prepared foods or going out to eat. All in all, though, food is another controllable, but necessary,expenditure.
4-Transportation. Maybe you don't need a car, but everybody needs to get from place to place. If you don't own a car, you'll still have to pay for public transportationor chip in for your carpool. If you do own a car, you'll rack up costs for gas, insurance, and maintenance as well as for the vehicle itself.
5-Debt. If you owe, you have to pay. College loans, car payments, and credit card payments can eat a big hole in your paycheck. Much of that debt can be eliminated by not buying so much on credit. But once you buy, you'll owe, and you have to pay it back. It's smart to get high-interest debt (credit card debt)These can't-avoid-them expenditures are guaranteed to take your money:Nobody is going to argue that you shouldn't buy the things you need. It makes no sense to put money in the bank that you should have used to buy yourself a pair of glasses. Our argument is with thinking, as so many of us that you need everything you see or everything that someone else has and buying it. All that does is make you have too much stuff and jeopardizes your financial future.
